Note: The Slack integration is in Beta and available to all plans (Free, Essential, Premium) until December 31, 2024. From January 1, 2025, only Premium plan subscribers will be able to activate this integration. Existing activations will remain unaffected. For more details, visit our Pricing page. |
With our Slack integration, managers and employees can efficiently handle time off requests, access vital employee information, and stay updated on who is out of the office.
You can use TalentHR’s most popular features without leaving Slack. Team members can use TalentHR in Slack to:
- Check their available time off balances
- Lookup employee information from the employee directory
- See who in the organization is out today or tomorrow
- See who's out from their team or peers
In addition, managers can use TalentHR in Slack to:
- Be notified that a new time-off request is ready for their review
- Accept or Reject a new time-off request
Note: To handle TalentHR requests via Slack, we recommend using the same email address on Slack as on TalentHR when integrating the two systems. |
Enable the Slack integration on TalentHR
1. Go to “Settings” and select “Integrations” (1).
2. Select “Slack” (2).
3. Click “Connect” (3).
4. You will be asked to sign in to your Slack workspace. Enter the URL of your Slack workspace (4) and click “Continue”.
5. You will need to allow TalentHR to access your Slack workspace. Click “Allow” (5) to proceed.
Note: The “This app is not approved by Slack” message at the top of the page is due to the integration still being in Beta. Once the integration is out of the Beta stage, this message will not show up during setup. |
6. Next, you will need to allow Slack to use the TalentHR API to access your TalentHR portal. Click “Allow” (6) to continue.
7. Done! Open the Slack app following the prompt that will appear on your browser, or open Slack in your browser directly (7).
Now that you’ve successfully integrated your Slack workspace with your TalentHR portal, a “TalentHR” entry will appear under the “Apps” menu on your workspace (1).
