TalentHR's time tracking feature enables employees to easily log their working hours, providing management with real-time insights into team activities. This guide outlines the steps to effectively utilize this feature.
To enable time tracking:
1. Log in to TalentHR as an Admin or an HR manager and navigate to the Settings (1) section from the left-hand menu.
2. Go to the Time tracking (2) tab
3. Toggle the feature to Enabled (3).
4. Under Timer expiration (4), select a maximum number of hours for the timer (1 to 24), and specify whether to automatically force end the timer at the end of the day, i.e. at 23:59:59.
5. Enable Geolocation (5) if you wish to capture the location data when employees clock in/out.
6. Click Save (6) at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
Time tags
Define custom tags (e.g., Project A, Client Meeting, Break, Overtime) to categorize time entries. Employees can select a tag before they start their timer, to specify their activity during that time entry.
To create time tags:
1. Go to Time tracking (1) from the left-hand menu.
2. Click Time tags (2) and then, click Add time tag (3).
Note: From this page, you can also see, edit and delete any of your existing time tags. |
3. Type a name (3) for your time tag and then select whether it applies to all employees (4) or specify subsets of employees to whom this tag will be available.
4. Click Save (5) to update your settings.
Clocking in and out on TalentHR
Once an employee is logged in on TalentHR, they will see a Start timer button at the top of their dashboard.
To clock in and/or out:
1. Click the Start timer (1) button to begin tracking time.
2. Optionally select the appropriate time tag (2) to describe the activity or project.
3. Click Start (3). The timer begins.
4. Click on the same button (4) to clock out, or change activity by restarting the timer and choosing another tag.
5. In the confirmation box that follows, click Confirm (5) to stop the timer.
Note: If geolocation is enabled, the system will record the location at the time of clocking in/out. Even if geolocation is enabled, the system asks the employee's permission to track their location and they must allow it first, otherwise their location cannot be tracked. |
