By default, TalentHR calculates time off based on days and a time off request can be one or more entire days, or a fraction of the work day. In addition to this, TalentHR allows you to calculate time off in hours.
To enable time off requests in hours:
1. Log in to your TalentHR portal as an Admin or an HR Manager and go to Settings (1).
2. Make sure that Domain settings (2) is selected and you’re under the General tab (3).
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and enable the Allow time off requests in hours option (4).
4. Click Save (5) to save your changes.
Now, when an employee requests time off, they have the option to submit their request in hours, rather than as a fraction of the work day.
To book time off in hours:
1. The employee clicks Customize (1) once they select the date period they wish to request time off for.
2. The employee enables the hours option (2).
3. Once this option is enabled, the employee sees their working day(s) in hours and they can submit their time off request as such (3).
By default, full-time employees, contractors, and furloughed employees are allotted a work day of 8 hours, while part-time employees are allotted 4 hours per work day. You can change any employee’s working hours, if needed. Click here to read more.
